So I have been a bit behind in keeping up this blog. I think I have resolved to try and get back into it going forward.
We had our first Christmas together-all 7 of us! We had a great time! We had all the kids from Sunday the 19th-Christmas day pretty much. We did cookies, shopping, wrapping and decorating the stockings, and lots of Phineas and Ferb.
We had lots of visitors too-Gramma and Papa Loomis came for a visit, Garett and his girlfriend came for a few days, and then we had Annette's family out too. I cooked my very first turkey this year and I think I did okay.
Nate was able to come down and spend some time with the kids too. He came for Christmas Eve cookie making and dinner. With picky eaters and trying to start our own traditions, we let the kids pick their favorite foods for dinner. We had a concoction of cereal, mash potatoes, and fruit. i did make pork chops for the adults. It was fun.
That night the kids acted out the Nativity Story and wrote letters to Jesus. We opened pajamas and a movie, but the kids wanted to go to bed super early in hopes Christmas would come faster. We had to tell the girls that they couldn't get us up until 5AM. They were up for a couple hours at least before they woke us up.
Poor Lance slept on the floor in our room that night since we put Kelci in our room in hopes the girls would sleep in longer if she weren't there to wake them up, but obviously that didn't work. Kelci kept waking up and so we put her in bed with us, but then she kicks and whines so much that Lance ended up on the floor. He is such a good daddy though, he didn't complain a bit and was in good spirits when all the fun began.
Kids had a great time opening presents and we videoed the whole thing. Lance and I watched it soon after we were kidless for the next week. Sure miss having a house full of kiddos when they all leave.
